Celebrate your business growth and build instant local brand visibility. The South Kent Chamber of Commerce partners with member organizations to host professional Ribbon Cuttings, Grand Openings, and milestone anniversary celebrations across Wyoming, Kentwood, and surrounding communities. Consider a ribbon cutting for:

  • opening a new brand, location, or franchise
  • a milestone business anniversary
  • moving into a new building
  • reopening a business under new management
  • reopening after a devastating event (like a fire or flood)

Step 1: Plan The Date & Time

To maximize attendance and engagement, contact the Chamber office at least 30 days in advance to reserve your preferred ribbon-cutting date. Please consider bank holidays and guest availability when scheduling, keeping in mind that Monday through Thursday between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM typically yields the best turnout. Booking early allows us to assign a dedicated Chamber Ambassador to support your event and ensure everything runs seamlessly.

Step 2: Advertise and Send Invitations

While the Chamber will promote your ribbon cutting across our website and social media channels, we strongly encourage you to send personal invitations and launch your own promotional campaign to ensure key stakeholders, valued clients, and special guests are in attendance.

Step 3: Prepare an Agenda

Working alongside your assigned Chamber Ambassador, we recommend establishing a concise agenda to keep your event on schedule and respect your guests' time. A typical program includes selecting an emcee, welcoming attendees, introducing key VIPs and speakers, performing the ribbon cutting, holding optional prize drawings, and closing with a facility tour or brief networking session.

Finally: Have Your Ribbon Cutting!

On event day, your Chamber Ambassador will provide the ceremonial ribbon, oversized scissors, and an official Chamber Certificate of Recognition. Our team will facilitate the ceremony, capture photos, and feature highlights across our social media channels.

Lastly: Highlights & Thank You's

Congratulations on hosting a successful ribbon cutting! The Chamber will highlight your event photos across our website and social media platforms to showcase your milestone and thank attendees.
